The seal-less magnetic drive pump MKP-Bio was specifically designed for the sterile handling of liquid media in the pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and food industries. It was developed in accordance with the EHEDG recommendations, the design criteria for hygienic machinery as defined by the European Hygienic Engineering Design Group. Furthermore, the MKP-Bio fully complies with the DIN EN 12462 standard and the 3-A hygiene standards.
Since the MKP-Bio does not feature a shaft seal, the ingress of microorganisms into the pump is effectively prevented. Torque is transmitted via a magnetic coupling designed according to the reversed drive principle. Thanks to its unique construction, the MKP-Bio also does not require a sliding bearing carrier. The single-piece, centrally arranged impeller bearing is optimally flushed and cooled by the pumped liquid. This design enables the MKP-Bio to achieve excellent operating characteristics.
